Learn how to create and manage links.

Link Components

Component	What to Do
Destination URL	Enter the final URL where visitors will be redirected
Slug	Create a unique short URL (e.g., running-shoes)
Redirect Type	Choose 301 (permanent), 302 (temporary), or 307 (preserve method) redirect
Source	Choose from Manual or Scan to specify link origin
Link Attributes	Set Nofollow, Noopener, Noreferrer, or Sponsored for SEO and security
Auto-Linking	Configure keywords for automatic linking in your content
Conditional Routing Rules	Set up condition-based redirects (device, location, etc.)
Register Link	Click to save your link

Creating a Link

1. Go to Link Manager Pro → Pretty Links
2. Click the New Pretty Link button
3. Fill in the fields:
   • Destination URL: The actual link
   • Slug: Short, simple (auto-generated if blank)
   • Redirect Type: Choose from 301, 302, and 307
   • Source: Manual or Scan
   • Link Attributes: Nofollow, Noopener, Noreferrer, or Sponsored
   • Auto-Linking: Replace your predefined keywords with this link
   • Conditional Routing Rules: Add rules based on your choice of distributing redirection
4. Click the Register Link button to save your link

Link Options

Option	Description	When to Use
Nofollow	Tells search engines not to follow	Affiliate links, sponsored content
Noopener	Prevents the new page from accessing window.opener property	For security when opening links in new tab
Noreferrer	Hides the referrer information from the destination	When you don't want to pass referral source
Sponsored	Marks as sponsored link	Paid placements, affiliate links

Slug Best Practices

Good: amazon-echo, hosting-recommendation, wordpress-course

Bad: link1, prod123, very-long-slug-that-is-too-long

Tips:

• Use lowercase letters
• Use hyphens between words
• Keep it under 50 characters
• Make it descriptive

Editing Links

1. Go to Link Manager Pro → Pretty Links
2. Click the edit icon for any particular link
3. Make changes
4. Click the Update Link button

Note: Your Link Manager URL stays the same even if you change the destination.

Deleting Links

1. Go to Link Manager Pro → Pretty Links
2. Click the trash icon for any specific link
3. A popup will appear. Click OK

Warning: Deleted links show a 404 error. Consider using Draft status instead.
